My Strugle

It was early in the morning

Every movement I did, my operated site hurts. Again I can't stand up therefore I can't take a bath and i can't pee at the bathroom. Thanks to Mr. Bedpan I can still pee but I would still be on bed.

I can't eat anything until I farted, this is to make sure that my intestines are already working. And, I'm forced to move so I'd prevent having an adhesion. This is when my intestines sticks together.

I suffered for 3 days for the pain until I was able to walk properly. My BP still goes above normal so, I have to rest frequently. My highest BP would be 160/100.

My baby is in another room with other babies in an incubator hooked with an OGT (oral gastric tube) this is a long tube placed in a mouth which serves as a temporary passageway for food. Why? My baby's pediatrician said that my baby's sucking reflex isn't good and he only drinks milk up to 5mL.

A specialized milk was prescribed to my baby which cost much. I was encouraged to pump some breast milk to give to my baby.

Breast milk is the best gift you can give to your baby since it provides complete nutrients and antibodies.

Here is an acronym on the benefits of breast feeding.

B- est for baby, also best for mommy
R-educes the incidence of allergies
E-economical, no waste
A-nti-bodies to protect baby against infection
S-terile and pure
T-emperature is always ideal
F-resh milk never goes off
E-asy tp prepare and to digest
E-radicates feeding difficulties
D-evelops mother and child bonding
I-mmediately available
N-utritionally optimal
G-astroenteritis greatly reduced

I have to make sure that every bottle is sterilized before I place my breast milk in to be given to my baby.

Pumping milk isn't really hard at all. You can do this while doing something else, but make sure you have privacy.
